Professor Zaiyue Yang is a tenured professor at the School of Automation and Intelligent Manufacturing, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). He is a recipient of the Zhejiang Provincial Distinguished Young Scholar Award, has been selected for the Stanford-Elsevier World's Top 2% Scientists List, and recognized as a Top 0.5% Highly Cited Researcher worldwide by ScholarGPS in 2024. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Automation from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2001 and 2004, respectively, and his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Hong Kong in 2008. From 2008 to 2010, he conducted postdoctoral research at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Between 2010 and 2017, he served as Associate Professor and later Full Professor at the College of Control Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University. His research interests include system optimization and control, smart grids, and signal processing and analysis. He has led over 20 research projects, including three funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), as well as key projects under the National Key R&D Program, Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation, Guangdong International Collaboration Program, and Shenzhen Key Research Programs. Professor Yang has published over 100 academic papers, with more than 6,630 citations and an H-index of 38 (Google Scholar). He is recognized as a Shenzhen High-level Leading Talent, a Senior Member of IEEE, and serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics and a committee member of the IEEE IES Technical Committee on Smart Grids. Graduates have pursued careers at leading universities, research institutes, and high-tech companies. Some have become Ph.D. or Master’s supervisors at Peking University, Zhejiang University, Zhejiang University of Technology, while others have joined research institutes such as the China Electric Power Research Institute and Beihang University Hangzhou Research Institute. Many have also joined well-known companies including Alibaba, Huawei, and Baidu.
